What We Do...

Australia has an opportunity to build a stronger locally owned spirits industry—creating skilled jobs, developing Australian manufacturing capability, supporting local supply chains and producing distinctive brands with the potential to succeed at home and internationally.

Australian Distilling Solutions works with founders, investors, venue operators and people with strong ideas, established networks or access to capital who want to create their own independently owned distillery or spirits business.

We provide end-to-end consultancy, training and project support—from the first feasibility assessment through to distillery commissioning, operational readiness, brand development and route-to-market planning.

The directors of Australian Distilling Solutions bring more than 45 years of combined experience across liquor, distilling, business operations and brand development. Our team has contributed to the establishment and growth of successful Australian distilleries and award-winning spirit brands.

Our role is to provide the knowledge, systems, training and industry support required to help each client establish and operate a safe, professional and commercially sustainable business.

Each client retains responsibility for the ownership, funding, governance, licensing, regulatory compliance and operation of their own distillery. ADS provides advice and project support but does not control client businesses or guarantee regulatory approvals, excise remission eligibility or commercial outcomes.

How We Work

Every ADS engagement begins with an assessment of the proposed ownership, funding, manufacturing model, premises, licensing requirements and commercial opportunity.

We work with clients who are committed to creating genuine, independently owned and operated manufacturing businesses. Each distillery must have its own responsible ownership and governance, appropriate licences, financial records, manufacturing capability and operational decision-making.

ADS provides advice, training, project coordination and access to specialist industry knowledge. The client makes and approves its own business, operational, financial and manufacturing decisions and remains free to select its own suppliers, advisers and service providers.

Where specialist legal, taxation, planning, engineering or licensing advice is required, ADS works alongside appropriately qualified independent professionals.

It all begins with a strong idea and people who are prepared to build something genuine.

Where we believe a project is viable, we can provide the practical experience, systems and support needed to turn that idea into a safe, compliant and professionally operated Australian distillery.

Important Information

Australian Distilling Solutions is an independent consultancy and does not represent the Australian Taxation Office, a liquor regulator or any other government authority.

Excise licences, movement permissions, liquor licences, planning approvals and alcohol manufacturer remission eligibility are determined by the relevant authorities and depend on the circumstances of each applicant.

The procurement, dilution, filtration, blending, flavouring, packaging or bottling of purchased spirit does not, by itself, establish eligibility for the alcohol manufacturer remission. Each manufacturer must independently satisfy the applicable manufacturing, ownership, independence, licensing, record-keeping and eligibility requirements.

ADS does not guarantee funding, licences, regulatory approvals, excise remission, wholesale ranging, export access, awards, sales volumes or profitability.

*Funding and investment support is considered on a case-by-case basis and may involve introductions to independent financiers or investors. Any investment arrangement must be separately assessed, documented and reviewed for its legal, taxation, governance and excise implications.
